That silkscreen and placement of some of the diodes/components is simultaneously pretty cool and hurting my brain lol.
Got a letter in the mail from Mode. Hmm
I guess the sonnet was supposed to come with a signed card. Cool
Yeah - on their Discord it said they had forgotten to ship it with these cards so are sending it separately.
They lost me at subscription pricing
This is a very interesting switch comparison.
Are you saying that the Bitter Tea Purple V2 look like Litchi Milk in terms of the stem shape, or the overall construction?
Also, is the “Voyager” you refer to the JWICK & Chosfox Voyager?
Okay, fine. Okay. They made me.
Milk / light spring / stem soft bump / medium impact on the bottom / clear medium volume lots of sound of impact on the bottom
Voyager / medium heavy spring / stem sharp bump / hard impact on the bottom / clear collected short impact on the bottom
Asura / heavy spring / stem sharply soft bump / hard impact on the bottom / clear clicking medium volume
Tea / medium heavy spring / stem soft bump / medium impact on the bottom / clear medium volume clicking lots of sound of impact on the bottom
Okay … you’ve made your case!
I think that Voyager and Litchi Milk are pretty decent tactiles. So I’ll take a look at Tea if I get a chance.
Voyager seems ‘unrefined’ as compared with Litchi Milk. Interesting that Litchi is about half the cost.
Litchi is pretty stable and less-scratchy, whereas Voyager is more scratchy and has wobble.
I know, I know. I don’t NEED 3 Gehrins but this one is duo tone color match to GMK Symbiote.
The colors are 100% spot on, too. I’ll get it built up tomorrow or Monday.
I received a Synth Labs 060 review unit back in March. Why the long silence? It took several months for the other GB items to arrive to Germany, so you wouldn’t have been able to buy one anyway. That’s why I only posted the review today:
The GB items have been all shipped to their new owners now, and keebwerk is selling some in-stock extras if you are interested – and have the budget.
Synth Labs 060: Inspired by rack-mounted electronics and sports cars, it’s a 60% keyboard coming in lots of options. With hidden screw design, classy side profile, brass rail, polished grill/weight, vertical USB socket, etc.
Enjoyed the review. I’ve been eyeing the extras, but a bit shocked at the price
Maybe if I can wait a month or so and they’re still in stock.
Unikeys variant of HMX Purple Dawn arrived.
Description “quite poppy with a thocky note” on the Unikeys’ page fits the sound profile perfectly. Reminds me of Black Lotus but with a bit of thock (dduk 떡?). Stock spring is a tad above my recent long-spring range but going to try it stock first.
TDK offered to send me screws. But this is some kind of surrealism. Sending 5 grams of screws.
So I bought them myself. But I asked what size and name they were.
They said something like m 37. I didn’t find that exact size. But I found 36 and 35. So I bought them.
As it turned out, the original was m34.
brass screws)) extra weight won’t hurt)
Akko Rosewood Switch
It’s really cool. It can be classified as a silent. Low dull quiet sound. Good factory grease. Full stroke 4mm.
Margo 65% Keyboard
-or- the nicest clothes my KBD67 Lite will ever wear
I think the silver and grey look best with the green weight, and the mocha might be my favorite overall - but I’ve been looking for a purple keyboard to fit with GMK Phantom for years, and this seemed like a good candidate. The last time I tried that, I got a beautiful keyboard that wasn’t really purple at all but burgundy (Neo65) - this one, though, is proper Grimace-shake, Cadbury-wrapper, Donatello-headband Purple.
Is it the RIGHT purple? IDK, I’m still not even home yet, lol - but if it is, you know I’ll post a photo or two.
Aside: Divinikey accidentally included a whole extra Margo kit in my box - bet someone will be relieved when they check their email tomorrow, ha
Edit:
That’s a yes
This case is wild.
I can’t wait to build this thing.
Also picked up NK Charcoal and GMK Striker off MM.
Yes true, almost silent and a bit dull. Have to get used to it.
I never expected that when I bought them.
My DR-70F extras from Divinikey arrived:
- wired hotswap PCB (mostly as a backup to the wireless one I have now)
- sandwich mount aluminum plate
- full-width light blocker/diffuser
I also added five TX microfiber cloths that Divinikey recently started selling to wrap keyboards before storing them in travel cases. Microfiber cloths are everywhere, but they’re usually either too thick, too coarse, or too small to wrap a keyboard in a custom storage case. These are 500x500mm and very thin and soft, similar to a good eyeglass cleaning cloth and seem perfect for this use.
Side note: Omnitype’s cases are sturdy and come with similar cloths, but they don’t sell the cloths individually and their cases are rarely in-stock.
JTK Emerald from Divinikey arrived.
Man the color is beautiful. I’ll have to use that RShift for my spacebar I suppose, but god I love that rich dark green color.
