What's on your workbench today?

Plate swapped my KBD MAJA build. This is a POM plate from Green Door Geeks. I hadn’t paid much attention to plate material in previous builds. That changes going forward. The POM plate is so nice to type on.

Is that MO-RA with fans in the background?

Yup!

I have it under the table, like a passive radiator.

Also plate swapped my GMMK Pro, and got rid of the extremely mediocre “GOAT” stabs in favor of TX. SUCH a big sound improvement.

Totally not “next week” as I said, but I think I found a solution that works. XHT-BDZ!

I eat my words about it being similar to DG; it’s not. Very workable and because of that… Works. It’s the most success I’ve had with any mod. I doubt it’ll be my go-to mod for a long time, but for now, it works.

My Wordpress workbench, that is; I’ve added a new feature to my site.

While it’s generally geared towards fellow keeb super-nerds, I’d also like it to be useful for people who aren’t necessarily neck-deep into the hobby or even into it at all, so I’ve written-up an in-my-own-words glossary of keeb-related terminology I’m likely to use on the site.

If anybody is bored, take a look and see if I missed anything or wrote something upside down. :upside_down_face:

Cheers!

Good for you dude, right on. Proper stabs are so important.

I looked through the glossary while using my Hidari so two terms I noticed missing were “FRL” and “southpaw”.

Not sure how often you actually use those so maybe they don’t need to be there.

Added - thanks!

Hmm, here’s some more if you like them:

  • IC (Interest Check)
  • Top-mount (because best mount :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)
  • JWK/Durock (since you have Gateron and Cherry)
  • WKL
  • HHKB (both keyboard and layout)
  • Tsangan
    *ANSI/ISO

^ think these are pretty commonly heard/said

I think that could fit into the definition for ‘Fullsize’, that would technically be ANSI 104 and ISO 105 right?

I think maybe mentioning ‘Arisu’ in the definition for ‘Alice’ could also be helpful for anyone new to keyboards as thats a term that shows up often when searching for Alice and Alice-style layouts.

Oh, I thought they were size-agnostic layouts. Like, 60% ISO has the L-shaped enter, etc.

I think you’re correct. I was speaking in terms of the definition for ‘Fullsize’, where ‘ANSI 104 and ISO 105’ would be a more concise way of saying ‘standard’.

@sarvopari @huhsh Thanks very much for the suggestions! I’ve added those and quite a few more - and learned a thing or two in the process. Love when that happens.

Nice!!

Just one potential edit: Arisu is an Alice layout with arrow keys. Please fact check me, but I’m pretty sure that’s how I’ve seen it used.

Don’t it have a slightly different angle of the split to?

And also does not have 2 B’s?

Finally found the original IC post; yes, it appears that is the key distinction, no pun intended. Not sure about the other factors yet but the arrow keys is what the post focused on.
