What did you order or think about ordering?

It’s probably too late for this set, since it was manufactured a few years ago and Drop is selling old stock. But for newer sets like SA Metaverse, I’ve heard you can go straight to Signature Plastics and ask for individual key replacements, since they still have them on hand.

I forgot about that! @wjrii Can confirm this is true - if the set in question is made by Signature Plastics (and I think Mitospeed is) it’s worth reaching out to them directly to see if they have any spares.

Took advantage of Vala’s latest 50% off sale to pick up a deskmat and try out the Shogun tactiles:

it’s possible to use more than 1 giftcard per checkout? I didn’t know that so only used 1 on my order, haiya :face_exhaling:

I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to use multiple gift cards on a pre-order product no less. I kind of just plugged them in to see if it would work but didn’t expect it. Definitely planning to pick up a couple more if NK does another sale on them next summer.

Grabbed some cheap costar style stabs. I think with the wire living above the plate, they may adapt to my usual fabrication techniques with less “Dremel and drama” than Cherry style. I know they’re not in fashion, but any pointers on making them behave?

IME, just lubing the keycap clips where the wire slides in it & lubing where the wire clips into the bases usually works well for Costar stabs (pretty much identical to lubing ALPS stabs). Also if the bases fit loosely in the plate, shim the plate with pieces of electric tape or something similar just like you would with plate mount stabs to make the bases sit nice & tight in the plate. The only huge drawbacks I’ve seen with Costar stabs is obviously the cluster it is to change keycap. Plus since the areas you lube are so small & you use such a small amount of lube with them, they need the lube refreshed much more often than Cherry style stabs. Although overall I think you may be right about them being a more viable alternative for the types of builds you have been doing lately.

So close, LOL! SA had Laser Gaijin in R3 but no Laser or Mitospeed. No worries though; I don’t need the caps right away.

Nice. I’m going to try to get an X-ray edition board tonight. Going to have to set an alarm. I’m too old to stay up until midnight

Put in an order for the Awekeys Retro 80s full metal keycap set:

they’re running launch day specials for today only.

Tempted on ordering the NovelKeys ALUVE aluminium keycap set to compare:

I backed the new wireless preonic on KS. Got the case and the walnut wristrest. What can I say, my idea of cheep has been warped by custom keebs. And it’s a good deal for preassembled (I’m lazy these days)

Edit: nah. Changed my mind. Backed the K2 HE instead.

Is anyone going in on the Matrix Gator and/or Ron badges (notion link)? I’m thinking about one or both…and maybe getting a Gator that’s a different color from my Navi…

That Matrix Gator looks handy! Would be nice if they made it universal having a USB daughter board or USB hub built in for use with other 60% or 65%s.

Has Matrix shared any photos of prototypes? Noticed the Gator doesn’t match up with the width of the Navi, so I’m having trouble imagining how this looks for the actual product.

Ordered and waiting on some keycaps:

Missed out on, and still thinking about the PBTfans X-Ray and put myself on the waiting list for the PBTfans Vior… maybe even the Pyga or join the group buy for the Milkyway / MW Asuka.

Bring on the modular keyboards… start with a 60% or 65% then add modules to make it 75%, TKL, 1800, full.
