Yes, me too! I ordered the bottom one you uploaded here. Right now I’m running it without a blocker at all. It’s a bit too much, though. I think the full blocker will look nice. But yes, the style of the 1/2 but all the way would be ideal.
I do wonder if it would be challenging to 3D print something like this, but it’s not unbearable, so I’m not motivated enough to actually pursue it.
oh yeah, on the light blocker - I agree too! I’m waiting to get my full width not blocker and the black weight, plate, and frame.
Drop has a BOGO sale for their DCX and MT3 sets that you can mix and match, with a bunch of sets priced at around $100 instead of their usual $120+ prices. Use promo code DCXMT3MIXNMATCH at checkout:
Damn, they’re still running this! Wonder if they got a bunch of new colorways in the works & they’re clearing out space??? I know it’s not a popular opinion, but I still really like DCX & would encourage people to give it a shot.
I think Drop just likes to do BOGO sales a couple times a year. They’ve been doing them since I got into the hobby about four years ago with some of the same MT3 sets still offered now. I wouldn’t complain about some new MT3 colorways…
I’ve heard good things about DCX but I prefer PBT caps so haven’t tried them yet. Hypocritical of me since I’m all in for MT3 and HSA, but I like those profiles so much I can ignore the type of plastic.
It doesn’t give much about fabrication info, but this repo has a decent list of open source projects. It’s where I found the Plain-60C I used as the basis for my own design.
Found this the other day on the place named after a Brazilian river:

Specifically went for the “silent” one, since there are NOT many low profile silent switches out there. And turns out, it’s one I’ve not seen before nor can find much on – they’re GTMX “pink” switches.
Switches seem soldered in, but curious if anyone’s run into them before? GTMX’s are from Outemu, right?
EDIT: Shot of the PCB underside. Think it’s using Gateron Low Profile stabs, or something close to them, which is nice to know that they’ll work with these switches!
I’m curious, what are your favorite PBT makes?
The half-height black switches I used on my recent build were sold as Outemu and have the GTMX branding molded into them, though the top housing is a little different from what I see there (mine are more octagonal). I didn’t see any pink ones, though. The keycaps look very similar to the ones XVX/Womier sells.
EDIT: Just saw the PCB picture. You may have the true Outemu low profile, something more like THESE. Some of the reviews imply they’re compatible with the Redragon LP switches.
Yeah, they definitely aren’t the octagonal ones, which have an MX footprint IIRC. These, similar to the Redragon ones, have the Cherry low-profile footprint, which is a lot like the Kailh Choc footprint, only flipped horizontally.
Weird that folks say the Redragon ones aren’t compatible – they at least /look/ like the same footprint. Maybe folks are complaining about the larger center hole the Redragon’s require? Which is true, but it’s smaller than the Cherry LP footprint’s center hole (and lacks the stabilizing “key” protrusion).
Definitely seems like there’s competition (if not innovation yet) hitting the low profile switch market, which I’m here for. Maybe worth documenting the various Cherry LP options currently out there in a separate post?
Ok, last one: found these SUPER cheap ($18 inc shipping) doubleshot keycaps on Ali, which are labeled “MDA” profile, but looked a whole lot like DSS to me.

Well, they’re not exactly DSS, but they definitely aren’t MDA either.
Any idea on what profile this is? MTNU maybe?
KAT maybe?
I’m seeing some connection to Akko/Monsgeek MDA, as well as XVX/Womier ISA. Maybe a little too short in the middle rows to be the CSA/YSA/xSA clones you see floating around, and the legends on the mods are more Gorton-y as well. There’ are some MTNU notes, but it’s clearly not as sophisticated so I don’t think it’s a straight knockoff. Then they seem to have cloned the mods’ legends from some of the more retro inflected MT3 sets (e.g. PSE BRK), but then used the same font size (mold reuse?) for the alphas’ legends.
Interesting. I like these little mysteries. They’re not unattractive caps, and the doubleshot looks clean if a bit stingy with material. Would probably shine up pretty quick as well, but don’t initially seem to be a bad value.
Lately, MTNU has stolen my heart/wallet, but I’m still a big fan of NovelKeys Cherry PBT caps. Omnitype has a couple PBT sets that I’ve liked as well. And of course, MT3 PBT deserves a mention. All of these go on sales that make the price to value hard to ignore.
Edit: I’m not a fan of any PBT and ABS blends. In my experience, they feel and wear like straight ABS.
NovelKeys having a 3-day flash sale on some GMK sets - (mostly) $70 base kits
If I didn’t already have Olive Dark I’d be buying it now… I’m resisting that absurd compulsion to have a “use” set and a “backup” set >.>

I have “backup” set for carbon, 9009, and muted.
My backups have backups.
That’s one “I’ll fight you” line that I’ve had to draw with myself. I can’t do backups. I spend far too much on new sets to justify my impulse to preserve my favorite sets.
