What is on your desk today?

I wish they made sets of that specific keycap style and color available as an upgrade

My Manta75 with DSS Late Harvest.

About DSS, what surprised me at first was the thinness of the keycaps, also the fact that the top is quite textured compared to SA.
Passed that surprise the double shot quality is stellar, this is a very pleasant profile to type on feeling and sound wise.
Also @NoPunIn10Did colorway does wonders on a white board.

Very happy of my purchase

DSS, DSA, and DCS are all on the thinner side, but are all great keycaps nonetheless. I really enjoy DSS – it gives me the texture and dish of DSA with the ergonomic profile of something like Cherry. The set looks great on your board (I mean, very much your board, lol).

A Bakeneko that I got from a guy on Discord. Sorta weird getting used to a 60% when I always had arrows, but sound-wise very welcome indeed.

Bakeneko 60 from Cannonkeys
FR4 Plate
JWK Cobalts 205g0 + 106
No foam
BoW

A bit deeper than I would like the sound to be, but I think that’s just because of the nature of Cobalts.

Change the right modifer cluster to act as arrows on tap and never miss them
again.

How do you make it “On tap”, exactly? I’ll try configuring it in VIA today.

I forgot what the qmk keycode looked like for tapdance layers, but fwiw, in VIAL it’s a lot easier to set tapdance keys than it is in VIA. For certain keyboards I’ve had luck using remap-keys.app as well

I think you replied to the wrong person, but VIAL is leaps better than VIA in terms of QMK functionality. VIA, to me, is more user friendly but has less features.

I’ve been using the Tecsee Blue Sky Star switches for a bit over a week, and I’m really liking them. The housing is HPE, and the long-pole tactile stem is UHMWPE. There are other Blue Sky versions with POM stems in linear and tactile, long-pole and normal.

The material combo is really nice - I could see using something like this on the regular, and I also think it would work well with more mild tactiles as well.

This one is a bit stronger of a tactile than is my ideal, but after just a few minutes of getting used to them moving from the comparatively gentle Box Whites, I found myself really enjoying the feel. If you’re a fan of smooth and snappy aggressive long-pole tactiles, these Stars might be worth keeping an eye out for.

ModTap Keys should work for most of them, except the Fn key, which might need a Tap Dance setup depending on what you use it for. I agree with @hellla and @trashcat, VIAL is probably the best way to use TapDance if you aren’t already comfortable with QMK source files.

Edit: You might not need TapDance if Fn is a layer change key, according to the Layers documention:

LT(layer, kc) - momentarily activates layer when held, and sends kc when tapped. Only supports layers 0-15.

Oops, totally did lol. Fixed!

After a couple awkward days with Cream Tactiles (a bit heavy for me), I decided it was finally time to give the Epsilons a try.

After a few minutes, I’m impressed so far. I think I see why these sell out so fast: they’re very smooth, clean, and crisp; easily an above-average linear.

One of my favorites. I didn’t even have to film my latest batch.

And they are beautiful. I need to get some for myself.

Well shit, there’s a positive word from two switch wizards of keebtalk. Guess I’m buying some Epsilons.
