Would be nice if sample set photos had color codes displayed as some of the colors are difficult to discern. For example, I tried to remake this ‘Norse’ set:
iirc you may be on Linux, but there is a nice utility in Windows Power Toys called Quick Accent. You hold the key you want to accent and quickly press left or right to invoke a selection menu for accented versions. You can change the shortcut or constrain it to certain languages if desired.
I had a brief moment where I thought, “the Ember caps I received had orange legends!” and opened them up again to vindicate myself… but nope, also red.
Got a V2 Lulu PCB, my first split keyboard will now be my first split that uses USB-C to connect the halves. By default I believe the board is now flashed with QMK instead of KMK which is great. I am tired of having my keyboard reboot randomly while I’m using it, and having to unmount the drive that holds the configuration files every time I switch away from my Mac.
Also got another encoder set because that’s the only part that gets soldered on. I probably could have just gotten two encoders from mouser or whatever but it doesn’t seem like a bad thing to have more spare parts (custom knob and enclosure) specific to the lulu. The strangest part of this kit is the USB-C cable boardsource sells has really odd statements on the front of being “baby safe” and “no problem” up to 250 degrees Celsius which is over 480 Fahrenheit!!!
Ok this cable keeps getting weirder. The back of the box says it is “Food grade silicone wire” the side has a section that says: “TIPS: Please do not answer a call during charging”
Got some keycaps… I think. At this point I think that someone either at GMK, NovelKeys, or my post office is actively trolling me…
Picked up @norbauer 's R&D 1973. Aside from looking like it was packed during an earthquake, I am kinda liking it. I was thinking of tossing it on the Class60b but JTK’s HSA WoB just looks too damn good on that board, so while I put all of the caps back in their their tray, I get to figure out which board to pop this on.
They ship from China, I live in Norway.
The Norwegian customs held the parcel until I paid the customs fee.
I order quite a lot of keyboard related stuff from different Asian countries, and never had any “bigger” trouble than paying the necessary customs fees and VAT.
Their keycap set customizer could use some improvements, I agree.
But they are incredibly helpful when you contact them about those things.
For example, I am the reason they now offer White (raw) as a color option.
Got most recent Alpha win in, then got the space bar set for Wasabi & straight Lindy Flemo cable in. I almost ordered the real Lemo one, but honestly think that would’ve been a waste of money. Lemo is super overkill for a fancy connector on a USB cable for a keeb IMO, so I went with the Flemo instead & saved the $30 in pricing difference.
I know that this post is normally for all of the keeb related mail deliveries, but I am just too excited NOT to share!!
I am a bit of a Pink Floyd fan and own several different versions of this album from the recent 50th Anniversary Edition, to an original UK release, and even a half-speed mastered 45rpm version from Mobile Fidelity that is just pure aural pleasure.
This little beauty is the original Japanese release with all the trimmings!
I have had it on my Wish List for a while now, and came across one for sale that checked off all of the right boxes for me and was pretty fairly priced for the condition it is in. After going back and forth with the seller for a bit with negotiations and up close pics to verify everything, I went for it and was able to add another “grail” to my collection!
I have a 2016 reissue of “Animals” as well as the 2022 box set that has the 2018 “remix” as well as DVD and Blu-Ray hi-res stereo and surround versions and the original 1977 stereo mix.
