Hi Keebtalk,
Apologizing for making a new thread but I didn’t see anything germane enough to necro.
For the past 6 mos or so I’ve been carrying an hhkb with me and doing a fair amount of remote work on my laptop (with a little apparatus to lift my laptop). I end up bringing a laptop backpack with me and everything fits into it pretty well but I’m looking to lighten the load a little and just bring something more like a laptop sleeve.
Now I’ve gotten myself into a search for a sleeve that can easily accommodate the hhkb as well which I keep in a sleeve I got off mechmarket eons ago. In another thread here discussing the Norbauer bags someone mentioned Molle loops and searching for bags with those has actually gotten me pretty far and in fact I found a couple of bags on Amazon by a company called Rough Enough that just might fit the bill.
Before I go committing though on getting a bag with molle loops and trying to figure out how to mount my hhbk sleeve onto the side I just thought I’d throw out a call for recommendations. Does anyone have a set up similar to this? A laptop sleeve (with a handle) with a way of mounting a 60% on the side?
Have you considered a small messenger bag? I’m a big fan of this bag (and I’ve been using it for nearly 10 years) and it feels much less cumbersome than a full backpack especially if it’s not fully loaded.
So just to be sure, you’re looking for a sleeve that has molle on it for your laptop, with another sleeve that you can take or leave that has the clips on it to attach?
It doesn’t use molle which I find kind of fiddly at times, instead it uses hooks which are a lot like velcro, adn that back panel has a hook panel that the pouch attaches to.
That might be a bit too heavy for what you’re looking for though if you want a sleeve rather than a sling.
