I think it would be funny to get a Tomy Macropad and put “QWERTY” + “ASDFGH” across the two main rows. Maybe Ctrl, Shift, Caps Lock (just because I think that would be funny), and Alt for the bottom row?

I think my new one comes dangerously close to counting. The big dumb button really serves no purpose whatsoever except to make me smile. Other than that, it just complicates the design and bumps my BoM by eight bucks.

So the “TKL” I linked above may be a dead project, but this ortho version is brand new
It looks like a fairly usable 40-ish layout (I mean, as usable as a 40 can be 
ducks)
Also, it works with the iPad mini, and looks pretty good with it
