Interesting Finds & Heads-Ups

The battersea powerstation area is so nice now, it’s been developed a LOT and there are so many nice restaurants there. And you can walk there from the park in like 10min or so. The archlight cinema is my favourite thing there

Huh. Thanks for the correction; the NK “flash sale” price is pretty misleading in my opinion.

Why all the unnecessary sublegends??? Takes what would be a super clean Hi-Pro aftermarket set & turns it into a sideshow… Although KBDfans hasn’t had the best record with their aftermarket Topre caps up till now, so even if they didn’t have the ugly sublegends I’d probably wait till the 2nd round. KBDfans Topre caps are notorious for having twisted stems that make the caps twisted to the left or right. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever seen a KBDfans Topre cap set that had good horizontal & vertical symmetry.

I think it’s fine. See here,

One is marked as “Preorder” and the other is marked as “Flash Sale” with a big ol’ green box around it. I think this is pretty clear, and not too big of a deal. It’s also nice to know what extras will be priced at.

Yeah the $99 base kit pricing of Mictlan is the regular GB/preorder (NK is not using the term GB anymore & just calling them preorders AFAIK) price. While Space Cadet II base kits for $115 in stock is pretty amazing. I’d jump on it if I didn’t already have it from Rd.1. I was hoping the child kits would be on sale too, but no luck there. I want the new R5 True Cadet kit so bad LOL! I got it from Rd.1, but it was ran in R4 there.

I found a local store which carries different kinds of Topre keyboards. They had literally everything - HHKBs (from Pro 1s to Hybrids), Realforces (even Hi-Pro!), Novatouches and Leopolds (only 660c, they didn’t have a 980c unfortunately) which they can mod on demand.

Considering I live in a country with an area of 2.1 sqkm, it was quite a shocking discovery. I’ll definitely be paying a lot of visits to them in the near future!

Ok, I gotta ask

What country is smaller than my bumpkin home town and still somehow has a physical store with Topre keyboards?

Looks like Matrix Lab is doing another run of their eponymous keyset, this time with Shurikey. US vendor is NovelKeys.

Price seems goood - $70 for the “base” kit which has coverage for full-size and a bunch of other layouts, or $120 for the “all-in” kit which is the base + a whole bunch of pixel-style novelties.

I just found an email from the Norbauer store in my spam folder (looking for PC 165 email with no luck, hehe).

DSA Afterschool 1992 for preorder (only 75 kits will be made.) Yes, this is DSA, not the previous DSS profile.

I wish the Noire extras were priced similarly to NK’s extras. =(

High priority email rule:
IF ANY MATCHES “keyboard” OR “keycap” OR “keyswitch” OR “group buy” THEN NEVER SEND TO SPAM

Hey Keychron, isn’t this technically Arisu layout?

Look a bigger version of the DOIO macropad. Kind of a 60% keyboard extension.

Not unlike a fancier version of the Sidekick from Clawsome: keyboards and macropads

Honestly this would be pretty hot to buy for CAD work, photo editing, video editing, audio editing, and more productivity oriented tasks
