[IC] Equilibrium 6 R2 - A Balance of Symmetry and Innovation

Hey Keebtalk Community!

We’re thrilled to introduce our latest creation – the Equilibrium 6 R2! :rocket:
The Equilibrium 6 R2 is a 60% layout keyboard kit, crafted to balance functionality with aesthetic elegance. After months of refinement, we’ve crafted a symmetrical layout, with custom function keys on both sides for a harmonious, balanced look.

One of the defining features of the Equilibrium 6 R2 is its exclusive mother-of-pearl inlay backplate. Each backplate is unique, combining traditional craftsmanship with a modern, cyberpunk-inspired design. The colors shift beautifully depending on the viewing angle, adding a captivating, personalized touch to each kit.

R2 brings an upgraded typing experience and even finer details than R1, and we’re excited to share this journey with you all!

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

What’s New with R2?

  • Perfect Symmetry: Just like R1, the layout is carefully designed for balance, both visually and functionally.
  • Materials: Featuring high-quality anodized aluminum, mirror-polished steel, and for the first time, we’re introducing Mother-of-Pearl inlaid badges and screw plates (yes, real mother-of-pearl)!
  • Multiple Plate Options: You can choose from PC, FR4, or Aluminum plates, depending on your typing preference.
  • PCB: Hot-swap or solder options, fully supporting VIA and QMK (1.6mm), or a tri-mode option (1.2mm), offering flexibility for all kinds of builds.

Sound and Feel: We’ve tweaked the acoustics to give you that deep thock or crisp clack depending on your build choices. This board feels and sounds amazing, no matter what setup you choose.

Why This Board? I’m GC from SCRIBBLEB Studio, and I’ve been designing keyboards with the goal of creating products that not only look beautiful but also elevate your everyday typing experience. The Equilibrium 6 is a reflection of that journey – a mix of minimalist design, high-quality materials, and precise engineering.

For this IC, I’d love to hear your thoughts on:

  1. Badge and plate combinations: Should we add more material options?
  2. Case colors: What do you think about offering more vibrant options?
  3. PCB preferences: Would you like to see more customization options here?
