I just ordered the Hexgears Immersion A3 keyboard, waiting for it to arrive. Just wanna know has anyone used the A3 yet? I’d like to get some thoughts on it. Cheers guys.
The brushed alu top is nice, it makes the board look much classier than the average gamer board, however, the bottom is plastic. I like the board’s low profile, and these Kailh low-pro switches are not bad either, they are the best-sellers currently at Kailh to my surprise, beating all the other normal MX switches. I consider the extra top buttons, the display and the fancy toggle button to be gimmicks I’d rarely if ever use after the first couple of minutes. What I miss the most is VIA/Vial support. The software is very limited when it comes to layer functions but otherwise works if you’re not into keymap wizardry.
Here is my full review for more info:
I was just saying I wanted to buy a keyboard with a screen, and this one looks really cool though.
As I mentioned, there’s nothing wrong with this board if you don’t need QMK/VIA/Vial or fancy layer functions, and prefer this form factor and aesthetics. For me, after reviewing many full aluminum boards, it feels like plastic despite the alu top. But rocking mostly ergo splits with custom layouts and keymaps, I’m not the target audience of this model for sure.
