Related to the excessive rattle of the R2 RGB version that has the MX compatible stems. I replaced the stock keycaps with SA Maxkey Portland and it did not eliminate the rattle but it was remarkable to me how much of a difference it made. I still plan on installing Deskeys silencing rings and doing the lubing that was recommended above but I was pleasantly surprised at what a difference the keycaps made until my Norbaforce arrives.

I have a feel that any colorway keycap set looks good on PC cases

So, when I got the Realforce R2 RGB I really wanted a Topre board with MX sliders that I could install into Norbauer’s sublime cases. I was very disappointed with how much it rattled right out of the box. Compared to my Leopold FC660C it was very, very noisy. I changed the keycaps, as illustrated above and it made a massive difference. Today I lubed the rails for the sliders, the stabilizers, and installed the Deskeys rings and the transformation is almost complete. Acoustically it is a symphony of glorious thockiness, all that is missing is the Norbaforce! I’ve attached an audio recording of the result. The occasional sharp sound you hear is my bracelet hitting the glass tabletop, I was very pleased with the transformation of the acoustic characteristics of the board. Realforce RGB - YouTube

No specific date yet, but still on track to ship before the formal end of winter, likely next couple of weeks hopefully. They’re just finishing up the powder coating and anodizing now. I might go visit factory next week right before they ship.

Made an account just to express my excitement!
Have an 86u on its way as well as a novatouch waiting in the wings to be butchered for that MX compatibility. Contemplating some BKE ultra light and silencing rings as well.
Any one have any tips for novatouching?
Thanks so much, guys! When I spoke to the factory on Monday, they said that they expected finishing to be completed today, which means freight shipping the housings to me next week. (I’ll be checking in with them today to verify that timeline.) They have a short distance to travel, so I believe this means I should be able to be boxing up and shipping Norbaforces perhaps as early as late next week.
