Giveaway week is over. I didnāt expect to win anything, I didnāt win anything, but I did hope to win something, anything. And I wonder how many other people who didnāt win anything are now thinking about buying something? A sort of compensation for loserās remorse.
Looks like the former Rama Works employees are starting to speak out finally. I hate to say it, but it looks like any of you guys that have outstanding orders will not be getting them. What a POS Rama turned out to be. Not only was willing to burn his customers but also seemingly burnt his employees bad tooā¦

Yea hurts to see, but I cant IMAGINE how much more it must hurt to be the employees. Seeing your hobby/passion start and then (probably) end like thatā¦I donāt even wanna think about it.
I hate to say it, but Iām not surprised.
I filled-out a change of address request for my CAPS order not long ago and never even got a confirmation. I remember thinking it was a safe purchase at the time, pretty much right before all the drama started. To this day itās the only keyboard-related purchase Iāve made thatās a complete bust, devoid of recourse.
Edit:
oof
Iām sure Iām late to the game here, but this was the first time Iāve run across what seems to be an aluminum case that is not cast, machined, or bent sheet metal, but instead it looks like the entire body, except for the plastic endcaps, is an extrusion. Looks like an unremarkable, overpriced 75% otherwise. Looking at it, I do wonder if the new Keychron K2 HE is a refined version of this build style.
Extrusions are cool, tricky from what I understand. The tooling is expensive as well. I believe in most cases minimum purchases are also required. So itās an investment every time you need more extrusion.
I donāt think Iāve seen that extruded style before. Obviously a different manufacturing process, but reminds me of bent steel designs with the end caps removed.
I found an exploded diagram of the K2 HE. That board seems to be a more traditional tray mount design with some tweaks to give it a box on wedge upper frame:

Just looking over GMK Cosmos. I love the idea of mixing in colors for a sparkle. I loved the idea of the metallic Kaiju too. In fact, I was looking for this back in 2017:
HA! Just ahead of my time.
People that are so heartless theyād rather abandon a kitten on the side of some road somewhere rather than put them up for adoptionā¦ That really grinds my gears as there is so many people out there that would happily give a pet you either canāt take care of or just donāt want a loving home. So what caused this rant is I found a little orange male kitten in pretty bad shape just roaming in the middle of my road by my house about 3 weeks ago.
We immediately brought him in, got him fed, cleaned him up, & took him to the vets. They gave us all kinds of special food we had to syringe feed him since he shouldāve have still been with his mother & all kinds of medicine to get him back to being healthy. It was still a little touch & go till earlier this week, but thankfully he has come around & seems to be feeling much better. Heās been chasing the dogs around the house, playing like crazy with anyone who will entertain him, you know normal cat stuff!
We were thinking of adopting him to one of our friends we knew would take great care of him, but the little asshole stole our hearts already. Then has gotten along with the dogs way better than we thought he would. So even though I always claim I am not a cat person, I am now a cat personā¦ Named him Tiger (I know, I know, super originalā¦) & now heās officially part of the family. Meet Tiger everyone!
He is your typical orange cat in every way!
I like him already
He is a little heart melter!
The should be in a thread entitled āThings that make us goā¦ awwwwā
Now this is the keyboard content I signed up for
Super cute ball of fluff. Can we get a sound test soon?
He seems like such a sweet guy. Iām glad you were able to give him a safe and happy home! I know you said his name is āTigerā but Iām sure thatās just a shortened version of āTGR Jane V2 CEā
Iām pretty sure this is how almost everyone stumbles into being a cat person!
The cat distribution system just works.
Iāve been trying to find switches for my Canoe for like 7 years now. Iāve rebuilt it once already. I just canāt seem to find anything.
Just recently got some 1.2mill actuation broken in blacks. Carefully hand lubed them to perfection. Filmed and spring swapped. Still donāt like the way it feels.
Itās just too firm. Itās somehow firmer than a tray mountā¦
Iām thinking something like the Snow Crash linears may work. I have the overlubed batch that feels off, but the new batch is on the way. So Iāll try again in a week or so when they get here.
But yeahā¦ this particular keyboard, which I love the looks of, has occupied more of my time and thoughts than pretty much any keyboard in my collection.
I remember wanting one of these soo bad back in 2019. Something about the āfolder tabā and especially the cutaway look on the back.
I forget how I landed there but looking for a Canoe led me to the Gray Studios Discord and my first actual participation in a keyboard GB (not just buying one on r/mm).
Who is Will Clark
I remember Will from switch top but thatās probably not it. And wasnāt there a Will at Massdrop?
Maybe he is involved in an area of keyboards Iām not as familiar with? Like the ortho or 40s community?
Not sure, but he said the right things for me as a concerned customer and designer. I like the product and the staff there a lot, they just havenāt been able to scale up, and havenāt done much outreach. I was talking to Jae yesterday about my MTNU design, and he had no idea they had a Discord. Taeha didnāt either.
Ha. Yes I only joined it after you mentioned they were going to make your set. They donāt really use it much. Good times ahead hopefully!
