Very interested to try this in a Frosted Polycarbonate Heavy-9! Just picked up one. Not sure how I missed that option when I first looked at the Norbazaar in September.
what are those keycaps?! Crazy cool setup
It was a recent addition! We found we had some spare rear cover and adapter plates so decided to make a few more housings to make use of them. There are still a few left from the quantities we’ve allocated, but just bear in mind those won’t ship for a few months.
Thanks! They are actually an all resin set made by me about 4 key caps per batch over the course of several months back in 2018. I basically learned how to make resin key caps specifically to create this keyboard. I’m psyched to try the frosted PC as my original goal was for a completely transparent FC980C.
Thanks Ryan! I’m so glad you’re making them. This is basically the housing I’ve always wanted for these keycaps since I made them 4 years ago.
Amazing.
“tears in rain”
Well, you weren’t wrong. Guess I’ve got to get a 980C now
Thanks! Just had one question about the polycarbonate Heavy-9. Is there any easy way to have one with a non-frosted finish? I’m excited for it either way but I would be very interested in a non-frosted version if it was possible.
I think you should be able to un-frost it, just like Ryan explains in his video: How to maintain a frosted polycarbonate keyboard. - YouTube
Awesome! I hadn’t seen the video before. I will have to give this a try.
Any more love for the full size users out there? Would do terrible things for a 108 key r2 pfu or r3 heavy grail style housing!
Will there be anymore Polycarbonate Pro3 heavy Grails?
Yes, and (thank you for the nudge), I just listed the last of them: Lot 105. Note that these come with white plates. (The polycarb ones proved very tricky to manufacture, so we didn’t up with any extras of those, as we had originally hoped.)
@norbauer the listing starts from Lot 39 onwards now, meaning Lot 1-38 have been shipped correct? The page is rather cluttered and not very pleasant to browse, so maybe remove even more lots after they have been shipped?
Yes, sorry. Shopify makes everything hard and miserable, which is why I’m working on moving away from that platform. I’ll clean up those listings when I get a chance in the next few days.
@norbauer @altano asking for a friend - Lot 106 is Pro 3 or Pro 2 version? Lot 84-85 explicitly states Pro 3 but Lot 106 just doesn’t have any info. Cheers!
I’m actually a little bummed to hear this because I spent a good chunk of time automating a bot to occasionally check for stock updates since I found myself compulsively checking the website far too often. Will the new platform have a similar customer API?
I emailed the same question last week - they are all Pro 3.
That’s not something I would have thought to build on purpose, but I’m not averse to exposing a REST API that gives you what you need. Not a priority for now (scrambling just to get it feature-complete right now), but feel free to nudge me once the new site it up.
