HEALIOS REVIEW
I just purchased my first silent linear, Healios 67g, and frankly, I was disappointed. With my fairly limited experience with linears, I think that either having a nice, satisfying sound is one of the most important factors when it comes to the linear experience (of course that’s all subjective), but I don’t think that silent linears fulfill neither the sound nor feel categories. I put these in a KBDPad mkII w/ a brass plate and alu case. After feeling these in the case, even with the brass plate, I could tell that these wouldn’t be my thing. I am making this KBDPad as a Christmas present for my Uncle, and honestly, it felt very similar to his super cheap membrane keyboard. Keep in mind, I did lube these with Krytox 205g0 for everything but the springs, which I bag lubed with Krytox 105.
In terms of noise, (keep in mind I’m using a brass plate and alu case so it’ll be a little louder than other setups.) It was still very much audible but still much quieter than normal linears in the more and more common workspace of working from home. I can see that this could be a niche that a lot of people would like, but definitely not for me.
In terms of feel, the switch was very smooth but not up to zeal standards especially FOR $1.20 PER SWITCH WHAT?! Yeah, these switches are the most expensive switches I’ve tried, along with drop holy pandas. These definitely don’t live up to their crazy price and are most definitely out-preformed by some silent alpacas.
From what I hear from others, silent alpacas do a much better job of feeling better, and I definitely believe that and love the normal alpacas. In conclusion, please don’t buy zeal silent switches if you don’t have your own opinion and trust some kid on the internet.
P.S, Ended up swapping out the Healios for 68g Tangies and they’re awesome.
tl;dr: I don’t like healios.
