I really like the bubble bottom and color matched PCBs, but the price tag…It looks like a $150-200 board tbh
Exactly my thoughts. Why the high price? Is that bottom bubble hard to manufacturer?
Yoooo… Imma need some more boards with macro columns!
Also, how epic is this setup with the Ecto1 themed Keycult
Injection molding is a common method for producing a lot of cheap, plastic items in huge quantities. Generally the cost is in the tooling, where you need a custom mold for each part produced, but after tooling, it’s a fast, cheap process. It’s not like CNC’ed aluminum or resin where it’s a slow process for production. However, I could see the tooling process for the case’s PC bottom being a lot trickier to finalize in order to get near-perfect transparency on it.
I didn’t think you could out typing angle the Cyberboard, but 11 degrees ain’t nothing.
For those who always have the flip-out feet flipped-out.
We clearly have similar board tastes. I’m still agonizing over picking one of these up. It’s truly beautiful but the price is giving me serious second thoughts.
Not to tempt you further, but Lulzthax is building one right now. It may help you decide either way. Alexotos should be building one very soon as well.
Lofree goes high end, lol! The perfect gift for an aging lawyer who knows nothing about mechanical keyboards. It is pretty nice though.
Ridiculous products for Instagram-addicts. Makes recolored switches seem pragmatic in comparison.
Wrist rest required
Do you have a URL where I may chuckle at this more closely and definitely not think about purchasing this for primo Instagram content?
I think they misspelled lol.
Tell me about these keycaps though.
They look like the resin topre hi-pro caps some makers like BlizzardMods make.
I love-hate this thing. At $430 that’s way to much for me to try it as a lark, but I want BadSeedTech or alexotos or Keybored to do a review of it. Not a single part of this seems practical.
Edit: or Thomas/Chyrosran22
that thing looks smooth. But agreed on the price. A bit too much to try out.
Saw this photo on Drop’s homepage and thought “that switch collection rivals ThereminGoat’s collection” only to discover it is a @ThereminGoat article on Drop.
Yes! I’ve got plans to release some articles with Drop as well as Kinetic Labs for the foreseeable future - both of which are targeted towards the smaller form factor, newer audience type of content.
Nice! Congrats on the expansion of your media empire!
