darn it, no green
That’s my favorite one too. I figure you could pair the blue with PBTfans Shark. Lol.

Lunar II is finally happening.
Not super happy with the vendor selection
I thought I was done buying boards this year.
Really hope I can get one this time. I have 4 AEKII boards that I’ve been saving for projects. I’m glad he decided to not use an integrated plate this time. I’m thinking I may try a brown alps build if I can get one. The springs seem so heavy to me though. Anyone have a recommendation for brown alps spring weight? Or should I just try the OG and get used to it?
Getting used to the regular brown spring is really all you can do. I tried using lighter springs from greens & a few spirt ALPS springs (45, 40, & 35cn). All of them felt mostly rhe same due to the tactility. Since you have to push through 2 leaves before you start feeling the spring weight most of the weighting come from the leaves IME.
Sounds like good advice.
I would recommend not using Browns. They are too stiff and too tactile - and I love strongly tactile switches.
Anyone knows if tx stabs work with other wires like c3 / durock ? I’m happy with my 2u’s from durock/c3 but wanna get a set of tx and use them to replace my 7u spacebars in boards.
Thank you !
I’ve found that to be true from just dry fitting them in a build but I feel like I’ve got to at least give them a try. I found them very stiff but still not as annoying as something like a box navy.
from what I have built, my favorite Alps and inspired switches have been from best to worst:
White > Yellow|Green > Orange > Blue > Black > Matias Quiet Click > Matias Linear > Dampened White > Matias Click > Dampened Cream (granted, my dampened cream are not in the greatest condition)
I have 3 boards with Whites if it tells you how much I like them. For me, they are the perfect Alps switch. I have a bag of NOS yellows and whites. I also have a bag of browns. The only switches I was fairly disappointed in were the blues. I definitely prefer pine whites to blues.
Ain’t the wires that big selling point of TX that the wires suppose to be super straight?

I don’t know that’s why I’m asking for more info.
Also replacing all stabs on many boards seem a costly procedure, so it’s worth to find a solution
You gotta try SKCM Pine Greens
Personally I find Blues much more consistent than Whites in terms of feel and sound. With that being said I have had horrible Blues, and amazing Whites (always pine).
I’ve tried almost every single Alps switch in vintage keyboards I bought when I was obsessed with that. Here’s my list from best to worst: (note: pine everything)
Green (SKCM) > Brown > Orange > Dampened Cream > Blue > Salmon > Amber > Green (SKCL) > White > Black >
For me, it doesn’t get any better than SKCM Pine Greens. Granted, they are extremely rare and hard to come across since they can only be found in Fujitsu Xerox keyboards which are very rare and pricey, but they are by far the best Alps switches I’ve ever tried. Oranges come close, but just don’t feel as good. It’s much easier to find Oranges than SKCM Greens though.
My favorite clicky Alps are the Blues, which really shine in tank cases. Ambers are really close, but the Blues are just on a whole different level. Whites are a bit inconsistent, although the best Whites I’ve had are close if not better to the best Blues I’ve had. Blacks aren’t as good imo.
CannonKeys PBT keycaps are getting better legends:
GREAT news. Always thought the legends were just sliiiightly off-putting. The new ones look much better
They really do. I like the caps themselves so this is welcome news. Looks like some patience will be required before they roll out to the existing sets but this definitely would put them more in the realm of say, NK’s cap offerings.
These started popping up on AE after being listed on Drop and Keebmonkey for a while. There’s a 3 knob version that looks a lot better and obviously has better value, so I’d wait for that (it’s actually already listed on AE, but the seller gauged the price up to $120). This one should actually sell for $40.
When you say Pine Greens, I’m assuming you mean the tactile greens some people call neon greens? I haven’t had the luck to try them yet, but I have heard they are something else with a very unique tactile event. I first learned of them from Chyros & have been searching ever since LOL!
