I just saw that Phantom has a 40s and NorDe kit so now I want it to. But the chance to find all three feels less likely then winning the lottery.
GMK Yuri Extras are on Novelkeys.
GMK Yuri also available on Thockkeys. The Skydata version is $5 less than NK if you’re looking specifically for that version
ai03/CannonKeys are doing a layout preference survey, if anyone’s interested—
I wish all of the fields were optional rather than required. I have no interest in 75% and larger boards, so my “eh, whatever” sorts of answers would get grouped in with those who have a stake in the results.
Is this the new meta for designing boards based off customer feedback?
Yeah, a ‘no preference’ answer should definitely be an option if they want more accurate results
Design by committee. That’s always been successful in the past. /s
I’ve thought about this as a wonderful, terrible idea: a keyboard that’s 100% decided on by the community (as best possible). Just to see what would come of it both in process as well as in product.
Wiki-board-ia
I think ai03 does this every few years, I faintly recall filling out his previous one.
My layout preferences change practically each year. Currently I am pretty over 65%, and I am into TKLs. Before 65%, it was 60%'s. Who knows what it will be in 2023.

Idk how long it’s been up, but it doesn’t seem super popular
Ouch.
I know I did the Contractor’s glance; Look, Laugh, Leave.
To be fair, many of the questions were general questions about layout preference as far as full vs split backspace & right shift, and also as questions about bottom row preferences. There weren’t details like mounting method or plate material or anything else too specific.
Keycult is going to be doing a B-stock extras sale tomorrow at 11AM EDT:
The Q5 is in-stock.
Admittedly, the sound test dampened my enthusiasm just a schtickle as I do believe I heard some gawdawful spacebar ping. I’ll bare-bones it anyways since BT would be a nice addition to the workflow plus having a numpad again just feels neato.
Retrocast and Nines extras on Kono. Expensive (Retrocast base is $65 markup from group buy), but here’s the links:
The markup on base I can kind of understand, but the markup on the novelty kit is nuts. Paying over $4 per keycap.
NovelKeys has a lavender purple BBOX 60 case available.
Building the case is a lot like beginner car or plane model kits; the parts come still on the molding framework and you snap them together. The case itself is basically a wide-bezel 60% tray mount, but with a bit more interior space than usual, which definitely affects the sound.
I’ve tried three switches in mine so far; and all three were deeper and louder in the BBOX than in a stock GK61 - but that goes for any flaws in the switches (and stabs), too - if they’re rattly, you’ll really know it.
On the other hand, though, if they’re nice and clean, you’ll get to enjoy that all the more. So far, my favorite-sounding switches in this case are TTC linear “silent” ones; I think they make a delightful poppy sound in this case:
