That is actually a pretty accurate description, yes!
@dom is correct that I don’t generally go too far out of my way to court promotional attention, but I’m always happy to share prototypes I have with community members whose feedback I value. (My goal in those situations is mostly to hear what they think in case I can incorporate any last-minute feedback.)
Toward that end, I did send one to the venerable @Manofinterests. He did ask if he could make a video about it and I said yes, of course, but I’m not sure if he’ll have time to make it before the GB ends or if he plans to show the build process. (Correction: thanks to @Dafraz117, it looks like the answer is yes.)
My pal @choobies also has one that I think he is going to show on stream next week (I’ll be there to discuss). While he might take it apart to inspect the insides, I don’t think his plan is to do a full build since I sent him an already-built board.
I believe @TaehaTypes will also likely do another more in-depth build stream once I’m able to get him a prototype (he has generously given me invaluable feedback on earlier protos and at every stage in the R&D process), but again likely not before the GB closes.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m also going to shoot a rather in-depth instructional video on how to do the builds for both models, but just haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet. I’m going to work hard to try to put something together in time, but time grows short, I know.

Cool, cool! I’ve said that in a “good will.” Because during every GB – you’re always humble and never scream or force marketing from every single angle – I admire that (because you allow your products to speak for themselves)

With the GB end nearing, I’m still undecided on an additional plate. If I don’t plan on modifying the plate (besides lubing and silencing) do you think i should still buy an extra just in case, or is it durable enough on its own? Just afraid of them no longer being available if something happens
Unless you explicitly want another color for fun or plan to do some modding, I don’t think there is any practical need for an additional plate.
Not sure if this was asked before, but how will lube affect the sound? Is the plate similar to the HHKB board?
this was the whole point of the project I believe. If you scroll up a little, there’s a video with a sound test of the board in the new housing, with and without lube and silencing.
Yes, this video compares lubed and unlubed with my plate. I personally like both forms and consider it a matter of preference.

So I’ve already got spare sliders, caps and domes. I could probably get springs pretty easily. Anyone know if there are aftermarket PCBs and stabs around? If so, I could avoid having to get a whole new HHKB as I like the one I have.
Nobody has ever made aftermarket HHKB-compatible spacebar stabs (with housings/wires) that I’m aware of.
I also don’t think anyone’s made a working aftermarket Topre PCB yet, but there is one in development for the HHKB – the Faraday60.

My pal @choobies is going to have me on his Twitch stream tonight 8pm EST (5pm PST). He has a Heavy Grail sample on hand, and that is at least notionally the premise of the stream. But it’ll likely be a casual and roving conversation, including and far beyond keyboards, if it’s anything like our our normal IRL chats.
